Captain Michael R. Cobb, BCETS

Michael Cobb currently serves as Patrol Captain with the Richland, Washington Police Department. Captain Cobb has been with the department since 1982, has 27 years’ experience as a member of the special weapons and tactics (SWAT) team and served as a K-9 handler for 9 years. The focus of his career has been working the street assigned to Field Operations.  He has commanded Support Operations, Field Operations, Administrative Operations, and served as Interim Chief of Police. He is the Incident Commander for the regional Bomb Squad and the Tri-City Regional SWAT team. A past President of the Washington State Tactical Officers Association (WSTOA), Mike continues to provide CISM services to the WSTOA and other tactical teams across North America. He is a co-founder of the Tri-City CISM Network, their past President and current Law Enforcement Coordinator. As a member of the Washington State CISM Network, he has been elected to serve several terms as Zone Representative. He is a member of Tri-City Lodge 7 of the Fraternal Order of Police.  Mike is a faculty member with the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation and serves on the ICISF's Speakers Bureau. He is an approved instructor for CISM: Group Crisis Intervention, CISM: Advanced Group Crisis Intervention, CISM: Peer Support/Individual Crisis Intervention and Law Enforcement Perspectives for CISM Enhancement programs.  Captain Cobb is a Board Certified Expert in Traumatic Stress and a Diplomat member of the American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress.  Contact Mike via email at: mike@pnwtrauma.com

 




Thérése A. Cobb, MSW, BCETS

 Thérése is a clinician with Pacific NW Trauma Associates and Counseling Services, PLLC in Richland, Washington. Thérése has been a faculty member with the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation, Inc. (ICISF, Inc.) since 1994, and serves as the Liaison for Region 10 (covering the states of AK, WA, OR, ID). She is an approved trainer for CISM: Group Crisis Intervention, CISM: Advanced Group Crisis Intervention, CISM: Peer Support/Individual Crisis Intervention, Team Evolution and Management (TEAM), and co-author of the Families and CISM: Developing a Comprehensive CISM Program. Thérése designed and implemented the Family Assistance Network (FAN) for Emergency Service Professionals and continues to present internationally on family programs. She is a Disaster Psychology instructor for Benton/Franklin County CERT (Community Emergency Response Team), a Founding/Executive Board member and current Clinical Director for the Tri-City CISM Network.  Since 1992, Thérése has been involved with the Washington State CISM Network and has held several Executive Board positions including President, Treasurer and Zone Representative.  In 2006, she was honored with the Tim Ross Humanitarian Award for the WA CISM Network.
